So, how it all began...Nightingale Design is a full-service interior design firm established February 2001 by Kori Nightingale and her husband Stephen Nightingale. Kori has had an amazing 25yrs in the interior design industry working with some top celebrities...Ryan Reynolds...as one of her most famous clients under her belt to unabashedly name drop LOL!

Here is our Our Brand Story...
This is how Nightingale Design (Kori Nightingale) evolved into Curated Accents over the last 2 years due to a devastating hand injury (actually a funny story…but not so funny due to the injury) and through the healing process and having to rethink how she can still provide design and fulfill her passion with design…Curated Accents was born.....Here we go....

In a nutshell – on a very hot afternoon on June 9 2023 Kori was consulting at a clients home who were downsizing, looking for tips on staging to sell….Kori walked into a musty guest room, stepped on a grim shag type rug thing and as she was saying well this has to go!...the rug disintegrated under her feet – it was actually a bathmat circa 1960...and both her feet went flying up…mini slip dress and all over her head and landed on her butt…but right thumb first…clients and their lawyer son about the same age as Kori stood across the room gaping in horror…seeing Kori… with a light swing dress up over her head….no more details are needed….embarrassed she continued with the consult and realized later that the damage was done.

After surgery and 9 months of unbearable pain and zero use of her entire right hand and arm she was diagnosed with CRPS (chronic regional pain syndrome). She went through the WCB pain program in Vancouver in May 2024 for 3 months and through this amazing program found hope again for life and her love of design.

Back home and out of her program, while hiking ...Curated Accents was born in August 2024...while Kori was hiking in the Okanagan hills overlooking Okanagan Lake in Kalomar Park in West Kelowna with her friend Rhonda. Kori was talking about her passions and dreams and specifically about what she loved most about her job as an interior designer. What she loves the most out of her current role as an interior designer is designing and curating the finishing touches in her projects. Throughout the 3 hour hike Curated Accents was born, an idea to provide high quality designer curated groupings of accessories that would be pre selected, pre packaged in a beautiful box. The subscription boxes would offer not only everyday accessory groupings to complement each area in the home but would also offer seasonal, holiday and special event design groupings. Essentially every room in the house would have a custom curated - by style - ready to go designs available. And from this initial concept Curated Accents came to life.
